JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent will deal with Innovative Process modelling studies. He/she will need to have extensive technical experience with computer science, material science, process and/or engineering and conceptualise and lead complex technical efforts (transformational and transversal).
JOB SCOPE
The Process Innovation team is part of the Science & Technology department of the business area Refractory, Abrasives and Construction. It supports process innovation for RAC and may provide expertise for the IMERYS group.
Main mission of the incumbent will be to work for the Precize project and will be in charge of the process modelling aspect. He/she will have strong interactions with other S&T departments, industrial partners (Air Liquide) and Universities (CEMTHI, LGC Toulouse). The engineer can be asked for working transversally with other Business Areas.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Core role responsibility:
Conducts literature evaluations in preparation of process modelling and proposes innovative programs of study.
Develop relationship with S&T department and/or universities (CEMTHI/ LGC Toulouse) to acquire physical data/ parameters for planned modelling
Performs advanced modelling studies in the field of combustion, heat transfer, dissolution and Gas/ liquid transfer.
Participate at industrial/ pilot tests to confirm modelling results by performing measurements. Results to be fed back into the model as an improvement loop.
Has to challenge supplier and modelling companies aligned with our project objectives (technical model choice, parameter assumption and interpretation)
Collaboration with the IT department to propose software compatible with the scientific needs
Some travels in France can be required (less than 5% of the time)
Supports Imerys Safety and Health strategy, contributes to achieve related targets
General team responsibilities:
Interprets, evaluates, and communicates research data and results for research projects. (Constantly)
